| Anna Marchini of the New York YouthCaN Planning Committee traveled to the New Jersey side of the Hudson River and hiked along the Palisades with the Estonian presentation team: Sirje Janikson, Pirjo Elbrecht, and Timo Uustal of Tartu Nature House in Tartu, Estonia. The Estonian team will be presenting a workshop on creating a student written environmental newsletter. The newsletter created at their workshop will be published on the YouthCaN web site Monday. Their hike of about 5 to 6 miles took them from the New York side of the George Washington Bridge (visible in several of these photos), over the bridge to New Jersey, then north along the top of the 1000 foot (300 meter) high cliffs of the Palisades for about 2-3 miles and then down to the river. Then they made the return trip. A nice 6 mile hike, on a beautiful day in New York! Wish I was there! |
