You can get there on the 4, 5, 6, 7 and S subway trains.

We must buy our tickets and board the 7:53 Train for Manitou so don't be late.

Meet at the information booth, Main Lobby, Grand Central Station. 42nd street and Park Avenue.

7:53 AM
Catch train from Grand Central Terminal to Manitou, New York.

9:01 AM
Arrive Manitou, NY and head for the Trails.

12:00 PM
Eat your bag lunch somewhere along the way up the mountain.

5:08 PM
Catch the train from Manitou, NY to Grand Central Terminal, New York City.

6:24 PM
Arrive at Grand Central Terminal. Give good bye hugs under the clock and go our various ways.

This hike will be steep in parts and the total distance covered will be 8-10 miles a moderate day hike. We will be in a young oak/hardwood forest with some wonderful views of the Hudson River. We will have an opportunity to do some plant, insect, bird and mammal observations as well as a bit of geology.

Bring a lunch, WATER, dress in layers and wear boots. The weather in the Highlands is a bit cooler than in New York. I would recommend long-legged pants because we will be in tic country, sun screen if you are sun sensitive.

It is agreed by the undersigned that under no circumstances shall the Museum be liable in any way whatsoever for any injuries sustained during the said program, nor does the Museum accept any responsibility for such injuries or other harm which may arise therein.
