Destinations for YouthCaN Activity Day 2002:
Activity Day, 27 April 2002 is in the works!

Hello Fellow YouthCaNers~!

Activity Day is a Saturday Outing where YouthCaNers enjoy the environment of New York and meet each other as well.

The Activities for this Year's Activity Day are:

  • Palisades Interstate Park Hike Start 9:00 AM $?
  • Brooklyn Botanical Garden - Cherry Blossom Festival Start at 10:00 AM $?

Each trip will leave from the Central Park West steps of the American Museum of Natural History.
Participants will be responsible for the cost of transportation and admission where required (Only the Zoo I think, but check back for details).

Piping Plovers!

Brooklyn Botanical Garden:


Enjoy a day at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
Stroll around the different beautiful gardens like the Japanese, Daffodil, Fragrance, Herb, Rock, Lilies, and Cherry Gardens. Also, it is a great chance to catch the flowering of the cherry trees during their season of blossom.

Subway: Q local or Q express trains to Prospect Park station; 1 or 2 trains to Eastern Parkway.

Expenses:
Adults (16 and over) $3.00
Children under 16: Free
Seniors and students with valid Ids $1.50

Train Expenses: Subway Fare to the BBG; $4.00 Fun pass for unlimited usage or $1.50 per ride.

Food and Beverages, except water, is not allowed in the garden. Food may be purchased at eaten at the BBG’s café.

Palisades Hike:


Enjoy a beautiful hike on the Long Path, which begins in Fort Lee, on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge. We will be hiking along the Hudson River and picnicing along the way. There are many spectacular views of the Hudson River and New York City.

Please bring your lunch with you. Sandwiches, water, trail mix, etc..

Subway: A train to 181s then onto the GWB

Expenses: Subway Fare to the GWB; $4.00 Fun pass for unlimited usage or $1.50 per ride.
