If you would like to join us for activity day, plaese email us at youthcan @ us.iearn.org Destination: The "Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge " is the largest bird sanctuary in the Northeastern United States and the best place in New York City to observe migrating birds. Its habitats, which we can explore, include: salt marsh, upland field and woods, several fresh and brackish water ponds and an open expanse of bay. Date: Schedule: We will travel by the C and A trains to Board Channel, Queens and walk to the visitors center at Jamica Bay Wildlife Refuge. We will hike the one and a half to two mile nature trail through Fresh and Salt Marsh Habitats. Expected time for departure 3:00 P.M. Things to bring: Directions: |
