Destination:

The "Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge " is the largest bird sanctuary in the Northeastern United States and the best place in New York City to observe migrating birds.  Its habitats, which we can explore, include: salt marsh, upland field and woods, several fresh and brackish water ponds and an open expanse of bay.

Schedule:
9:00 A.M. - meet at the steps of the Museum at 79th Street and Central Park West, Manhattan, N.Y.

We will travel by the C and A trains to Board Channel, Queens and walk to the visitors center at Jamica Bay Wildlife Refuge. We will hike the one and a half to two mile nature trail through Fresh and Salt Marsh Habitats. Expected time for departure 3:00 P.M.
