The NYC YouthCaN Planning Committee met tonight to discuss several

things. First, we all logged on to Second Life to listen to and take

part in a discussion about e-waste that was hosted by Global Kids.

After some technical issues with sound and making the avatar sit in a

chair without flying away, we managed to sit in on two discussions

with the hosts. During the discussion, we all learned more about

e-waste and even about using Second Life properly.

After enjoying a couple of slices of pizza, the committee counted the

votes for the theme of this year's conference; the winning submission

is TREE (Trying to Restore Environmental Expectation).

Some things that the committee has coming up in the following weeks

include voting for the conference logo and deciding on a color for our

YouthCaN t-shirts. In addition, we have started to work on the Opening

and Closing Ceremonies for the conference.

It's been a productive day and we're looking forward to seeing all of

the logo submissions!
