The Solar Cooking Project: Miami Country Day School
Join our friends in sunny Florida in this international project exploring energy use, sustainable development and organic agriculture. They have been cooking with the sun and YouthCaN for about 9 years now and folks from Australia to Zimbabwe have joined in the fun!

I light of recent world events, the students at Miami Country Day Scool have started a drive to raise money to sent solar cookers to Afghanistan

Below is a picture of the actual the large type of cooker that is being sent over. THe man in the picture with Yvonne and Rowena is Paul Munsen, President of Sun Ovens...really a remarkable man.

To test their solar cooker these Miami Country Day School students "cooked" some crayons! Next step, COOKIES! Then pasturizing water and... feeding the world and saving forests... join the action!
